Dr. Jurgen Fernandez
Dr. Fernández is a board-certified, fellowship-trained podiatric physician and surgeon at Sanphy Podiatry Group in Lynn, Massachusetts.
A native of Nicaragua and is fluent in Spanish/Español and has learning knowledge in Portuguese/Português. Dr. Fernández was raised in Miami, Florida, where he graduated at the top of his class and then went on to pursue undergraduate studies at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and did a unique study abroad experience in South Africa. Following which, he moved to Winchester and Somerville, Massachusetts where he worked at non-profit organizations while completing a pre-medical post-baccalaureate at Harvard University Extension School in Cambridge.
He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida in 2014 with Pi Delta academic honors and served as student body president. He completed a three-year Podiatric Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Residency in Plantation, Florida and then did a two-year fellowship at University Hospitals Regional and Cleveland Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio with an emphasis in limb salvage surgery, infectious disease, and wound care. Additionally, he did a mini fellowship in podiatric dermatopathology at Bako Labs in Alpharetta, Georgia..
